Edgar Sawtelle, Question #1: Senses
How do you feel the concept of 'hear no evil, see no evil, speak no evil' applies to this story?

I thought of this first, because Edgar can't talk, so therefore can't speak the evil that he knows has happened; his mother refuses to see what Claude has done, and the vet and sherrif hear only what they want to hear.
I'm not sure if it makes any sense, but that phrase was running around in my head the entire time I was reading the book, so I thought I'd throw it out there and see what other people think.
Also, there's the blinding of Glen, so he can't see the evil that is taking place at the end of the story.
Dang, I hadn't thought of this at all, but it seems totally apt.
Can you beleive I finally read this story. Only 7 months late. AHHH. I loved it. I agree with you, there is so much evil and the only one who can see it can't speak it (or won't). It broke my heart.
