Serena: A Novel Question #3
After Pemberton pays for Campbell to take Jacob's photo, he has a dream where he hears crying in the field where they had gone bear hunting earlier in the day. Serena tells him it is a baby, and when Pemberton asks if they should go and get it, she smiles and says no, that it is Galloway's baby, not theirs. What do you think she meant?

I think that this was representative of Pemberton's awakening to the fact that he had lost control, and that Galloway and Serena were in charge of 'his baby', the company. Also, obviously, it was foreshadowing of Pemberton's untimely end.
I had forgotten all about this part until I read the question!
I agree with you completely. When Serena saves him from the bear attack really is the point when Pemberton is no longer in charge.
I also think when Serena references "Galloway's baby" in the dream, it has to do with foreshadowing Galloway's efforts to kill Jacob.
I also think it is forshadowing to his death by the panther.
I think your comment that this point is the turning point, where he loses control of his life, is very valid. Things just went down hill from there. He had just murdered his partner and was attacked. He had just sold his soul to Serena and sealed his fate.
